RHP Oceania is all about networking and partnering in the Oceania region as well as throughout South Asia, South East Asia and the world. It is a network of Christian organisations, churches, volunteers and interested parties united by a common faith and a desire to see the Church minister the whole gospel amongst those who have been forcibly displaced. Working with displaced people demands resources, energy and skills that may not be available at a congregational level. Churches and organizational capacity is therefore developed through working together and pooling resources. The Oceania Network is committed to helping Churches see holistic mission as part of their role in society.
Through awareness raising campaigns and getting Churches involved in working with displaced people RHP Oceania aims to awaken the Church to her calling and all that God can do through her.
Current priorities include:
- organising an annual Roundtable;
- mobilizing leaders, churches and organisations;
- creating a database and collaborating with and nurturing partnerships;
- raising awareness;
- assisting individuals and organisations wishing to sponsor refugees through the Australian government’s community support programme.
